Tattoos By Taylor

Hello, my name is Taylor. Im a black and grey, texture based illustrative realism tattoo artist. Fine lines and textures. But what you really need to know about me is I’m obsessed with pup, she’s my best friend, and her name is Lilly Rue. But also, my perspective of “Art”. Art has always been something a bit more personal to me than just drawing or painting. Art, is something I have direct expressive control of. Control of what I choose to create. The ability to create something out of nothing. Something that only I have created, exists in this entire world, exactly the way I’ve created it. Every brush stroke, every highlight, and every tiny texture that only I will notice. It sounds so subtle, but it’s beautiful in all the ways it can be, if you really think about it. In a world where we have little control over the things that happen in our lives, one of the things we DO have control of, is getting a tattoo. Tattoos have the capability of being as unique as we are individuals ourselves. Getting a tattoo can help us express ourselves in an artistic and personal way, but they’re also one of the things we have direct control over when it comes to change in our lives. What we choose to put on our bodies, a permanent change. It’s a way we can grow to love ourselves when some of us struggle to find that. What’s important to me, is giving someone a tattoo they can be proud of, they can feel great about and they can learn that we all have the opportunity to accept ourselves and realize that we have control when it comes to that type of change. I agree, that tattoos are “addictive” but only because we become empowered by the change we choose when it comes to something as simple as getting a tattoo. And that feeling of being in control of that change, our choice in how we perceive ourselves, that gives us strength to accept who we are. When we’re young, we don’t think about how we’ll change the world. We don’t think we CAN change the world. But I’ve seen someone’s world change, from giving them something as simple as a tattoo. A tattoo that meant the world to them, for their own reasons. That and tattoos are fucking cool.
